I've taken the plunge and have started posting on the Telegram App. We're about a year in to all the social media purges of 2020, where heaps of really interesting and intelligent writers and posters were dumped by the social media companies. I tried a few other apps, like GAB, Parler and Telegram, but found Telegram to be the most useful. As the rhetoric is really heating up, the stories from friends in NSW and VIC are getting scarier. I watched a mum get a police visit, and the policeman was holding up printed out copies of the Stories she had posted on instagram. The state was paying this cop's wages to come and knock on a mum's door because they had decided that what she chose to post was 'misinformation'. But while that fascist behaviour was scary to witness, because of where this has led historically, I will not fear because I know where my hope lies, and whom the the Son sets free, he is FREE INDEED. The world is frothing, and the media and government will repeat over and over that they are the purveyors of freedom, until most people believe the lie, but I know who gives me my freedom: ONLY GOD has that power. And it was His gift to each of us. I also believe wholeheartedly that once God has revealed the lie, we can no longer come into agreement with it. If you would like to follow along on Telegram, you can find me here: https://t.me/goodmoodfoodchat Keep safe lovelies!

MEMBERS, I have sent this post by email, but am posting it here too incase the email goes to Junk. Have a read, and let me know if you are interested! It's been wonderful to see so many of the tribe who have been following along for years, sign up to the membership page. I have high hopes for this community so keep checking in, keep asking questions, and please feel free to grace us with your hard earned knowledge on food, healing, detox, motherhood, life! For me personally, this year is the first year that I have really had a moment to sit back and think about where this business of mine can go, and what it is for. Up until now, with the little one by my side, I have only been able to grow it within the confines of being an available mother. I know that MANY of you know exactly what I mean! It was very tricky to prioritise growing a business, when you have a little one that just wants to go to the park or play another puzzle game. And so I would sigh, play, and set business growth aside for when my youngest was in school, and time miraculously presented itself. I am very concerned that now that I am here, there is still not NEARLY enough time available! What the ACTUAL, people?! I was hoping for lie-ins, naps, leisurely lunches with friends to feed the body and soul! But no. It's uniforms, washing, lunch making, form-signing (OMG the form-signing!!!), school-ferrying, and don't even get me STARTED on the after school activities! We have actually made a collective family decision (okay I am lying, I have told everyone in the family) that we are going to cancel EVERYTHING in term 2. No more acro, no more cricket, no music lessons, no after school play dates. We are taking back our schedule. This time last year, the first worldwide lockdown was kicking off, and while I have VERY strong feelings about the erosion of our freedoms, I will always fondly remember that first lockdown, because there was, for our family at least, massive benefits to slowing down. The peace and quiet of not being busy. The PRODUCTIVE time we had on the farm and in the home. I made a pledge that I wouldn't forget those God lessons. I really feel strongly that we have to stand against teaching our children that BUSYNESS is worthy. That STRESS is simply an everyday part of life. I would like my children to respect peace and quiet enough to regularly prioritise it. So it was a bit of shocker to realise that we were back where we started. I hadn't maintained the healthy boundaries learned during lockdown, and I had simply gone back to over-scheduling us all. Lesson learned! Term 2 is going to be about peace, breathing space, creativity, and continued healing! This was supposed to be a short note, but I am rambling... VISION FOR THE FUTURE The looooong-winded point I am trying to make, is that the Good Mood Food brand, the balms, the e-books, recipes and other information that I provide, is not really just about me earning enough money so I can avoid going back to a corporate job. I have come to the conclusion that there is a largely unrecognised NEED in this world to disengage from the way things have been down this last century, from the narratives and propaganda. There is a need to slow down and clean up. I believe that there is huge role for small businesses to play in this, that they will help to show the way out of the mire. For local entrepreneurs to shine a light on living a LOCAL life, and support local people with local work. For business to provide an option that doesn't automatically include TOXINS and rubbish. The bigger that businesses grow, the more streamlined they are encouraged to be, in order to make more money, and the temptation is to succumb to automation, cheaper ingredients and bigger turnovers. Because of this, I believe that to focus purely on rapid progress and growth actually causes long term harm. Progress and growth are fine, but they do not have to happen in 3 years, and do not have to look like a rocket launching into space. It can be slower, more organic, with the focus ALWAYS on keeping a product CLEAN and GOOD, and using it to teach our children about QUALITY, about health, clean-living, about locally sourced and made. Does this make sense to you? Imagine a world where every town, small or big, was able to provide enough of everything to keep that town thriving: water, locally grown food, locally made products, and therefore local jobs. Imagine that every young person didn't automatically believe that you need to live in a city to succeed. I have nothing against cities, mind you, it's just that my heart is currently FULL for the success of rural, regional towns, like in the old days. SCRATCHY BACK TIME So with all of that in mind, I want to focus on getting the balms into local co-ops, rather than onto the shelves of big conglomerates. I need your help. If you are a member of a Co-op, please consider requesting getting the balms onto your co-op order sheet. Feel free to share this email with the co-op organiser. Additionally, I can offer your co-op a permanent 20% off RRP wholesale price, and reduced shipping costs. And if you succeed, I can offer you 30% off your next order! If you are keen, let me know and I will send you the Co-operative Wholesale pricelist

A couple of days ago, I started a new supplement to kill off the overgrowth of bacteria in my small intestine. This SIBO has come about, I have discovered, because my liver and gallbladder have not been producing enough bile. The right amount of Bile kills off bacteria both in the stomach (thereby eliminating reflux) and in the first part of the small intestine, thereby keeping the bacteria from overgrowing and causing inflammation and yeast production (bloating). I am going through a steady process to solve each broken process, and my first goal is increased bile production, then decreased bacteria, then the gallbladder flush to get rid of any soft stones that may be impacting the bile production. So a 6 month journey. Anyway, this new supplement caused massive die off of bacteria, which released stored up toxins, and I felt the headache coming like a freight train. I started to feel a bit of that 'out of body' sensation you get with migraines. I immediately knew that stimulating my Vagus nerve, which connects the brain to the massive nervous system of the spine and major organs (GI tract, stomach and liver), would help. I was out shopping, so once I was in the car, I sat back with a bag of frozen blueberries against the back of my neck. I sat like this for 10 minutes, and the out of body experience left, the headache started to ease, and my focus became clearer. It didn't totally clear, but I was able to safely drive home. Once I got home, I applied an ice pack to the nerve pressure point on my neck again, and rubbed my neck and feet with CALM Sole Balm. And within minutes, the headache was almost gone and the nausea had lifted! CALM Balm is one of these miracle balms that I didn't expect to be as powerful as it is. We discovered hypericum (St Johns Wort) when my youngest had her tongue tie lasered at 5 weeks old. If I used the hypericum (homoeopathically), she had zero pain. If I forgot, she would scream for hours until it kicked in. It was AMAZING. Hypericum is recognised as a potent natural herb that drastically reduces inflammation of damaged nerve endings. That is why it is used widely for ANXIETY (which is frequently triggered by stress, inflaming the nervous system), and also for PAIN, where nerve endings are physically damaged. So from my little clinical trial of one, I discovered that my particular migraine was caused by toxins inflaming the nervous system, the Vagus nerve not functioning correctly to solve the problem, and by focussing quickly on the Vagus Nerve and calming the nervous system between the gut and the brain, I was able to turn it around. I hope this helps someone!

Ladies and gents, we are off to a wonderful start! We already have over a hundred new members in the first week, and discussions have begun. As with every little bit of the Good Mood Food journey, there is no hurry, it always always builds organically around the needs of those that are willing to engage. I would urge you to engage, because this wonderful group of women, mothers, fathers, grandmothers, has EXPERIENCE in healing. I know these people, many of them have been with me from the days of 7 medications and a child that couldn't leave the house. We healed our families together, and it was HARD, but JOYFUL! But I couldn't have done it without the advice and virtual hugs of many of the mothers in this group. Let's share our knowledge and give the censors the bird! Because to be frank, it is none of their business. ZERO. Love to you al! Mary

So after reading my new blog on DETOX vs HEALING, a member contacted me to ask about the carnivore diet, which she is on, and feeling AHMAZING. And I've been ruminating on the topic: if your diet is 100% meat and fat, how does your body detox? Should you ever go on a 100% meat diet, if there is an argument against a 100% vegan diet? Here's my take on it, but would LOVE to hear back from all of you too! I had a gut test done a couple of years ago, and the doctor told me that I do not have the enzymes in my gut to break down vegetables. Now this explains why I get bloated on salads, and why I am the nut who is scooping up all the fat, and gelatin, after roasting chicken pieces. My body CRAVES meat, fat, broth, and I believe would be quite happy to live off it. My husband and son, however, favour the vegies. Avoid the fat, only really eat the muscle meat, don't chew on the bones like puppies (or me...). THEY have a gene mutation which means they build up toxins and burn through minerals (MTHFR - COMT). They don't get bloated on veg. Some things I know: organ meats and fats REPAIR your liver, kidneys, lymph so that your body will detox better. Does this eliminate the need for veggies? My feeling is that eating carnivore only for a period would be highly beneficial, but I would always eventually go back to the idea that once your body is healed, it will embrace a wider variety of beneficial fruits and vegies. What do you all think?
